About the position

The Product Designer at Loom will be responsible for designing core product experiences for the Loom standalone product, focusing on enhancing the video creation, editing, and sharing lifecycle. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to advocate for user needs and drive impactful design solutions that improve user engagement and retention. The position is remote, requiring candidates to be located between PST and EST.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other designers to enhance team output and quality.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and User Research to represent the design team and advocate for user needs.
  • Partner with product designers on other R&D teams to create holistic customer experiences.
  • Apply a user-centric approach to solve problems across the video lifecycle.
  • Sketch and prototype ideas to assess viability and design detailed interactions.
  • Drive high-fidelity designs with attention to detail through to delivery.
  • Conduct usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Contribute to vision, roadmapping, design critique, team planning, and product channels.
  • Contribute to the Lens Design System and Atlassian Design System.
  • Inspire a culture of design excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Product Design with a track record of shipping software.
  • Experience in the video space, including creation and editing workflows, is advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience working with data and conducting product design experiments.
  • An outstanding portfolio showcasing typography, interaction, visual design, and product sense.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse teams in a rapid growth environment.
  • Experience with remote teamwork and understanding of communication patterns in distributed teams.
  • A learning and growth mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with prototyping to explore and convey design solutions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and storytelling skills.
