About the position

At Weaver Fundraising, we are on a mission to create an intuitive platform that empowers any kid to fundraise safely and effectively regardless of means or circumstances. We're seeking a passionate Product Designer who wants to make their mark as the first designer on a growing startup team within a long-established, profitable organization with a rich history of supporting youth fundraising efforts. This position is based in Indianapolis, IN, and offers a hybrid work environment. As a Product Designer, you will take ownership of design work from brainstorming, sketching, and prototyping through to implementation. You will produce high fidelity visuals that are consistent across apps and meet platform conventions and accessibility standards. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with developers to ensure a high-quality implementation and user experience. You will also be responsible for effectively organizing and communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale to the wider team. Building a deep understanding of our users through interviews, research, and testing will be essential, as will facilitating design exercises that encourage participation and insights from team members. Additionally, you will work closely with stakeholders to become a key player in determining the future direction of our app.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of design work from brainstorming, sketching, and prototyping through to implementation.
• Produce high fidelity visuals that are consistent across apps and meet platform conventions and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure a high-quality implementation and user experience.
• Effectively organize and communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale to the wider team.
• Build a deep understanding of our users through interviews, research, and testing.
• Facilitate design exercises that encourage participation and insights from team members.
• Work closely with stakeholders to become a key player in determining the future direction of our app.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing native mobile applications.
• Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles.
• Figma power user.
• Experience creating diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mobile design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to solve problems in collaboration with a team of designers, engineers, and QA as well as with business stakeholders.
• Ability to manage own projects and to produce exceptional work, occasionally under tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience as the sole/primary designer on a new mobile app release.
• Previous experience building and/or evolving a design system.
• Previous experience designing for consumer applications.
• Previous experience designing for users who are under 18.
• Illustration skills.
