About the position

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will drive innovative product designs from concept through to production, focusing on developing home accessories, laundry, kitchen, and fragrance products. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, market research, trend analysis, and participation in trade shows both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Concept design, sketches, and prototypes, including managing the art-to-product process and 3D modeling.
• Provide clear and concise design direction and notes that guide the Project Coordinator and Vendors.
• Develop and design product mock-ups, product notes, and flat lay designs for internal review.
• Identify new product concepts that address market needs and consumer trends.
• Gather market data on key fashion trends, including fabrication, materials, color schemes, and designs, to inspire commercially viable product ideas.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings and brainstorming sessions, sharing best practices with team members.
• Shift priorities quickly to meet the evolving needs of the business.
• Monitor competitors, product innovations, and market dynamics to stay ahead of industry trends.
• Demonstrate initiative by continually updating expertise in product design and market knowledge.
• Think entrepreneurially and innovatively to embrace change and take on new challenges.
• Travel to trade shows in the US, Europe, and Asia to stay informed on industry trends and supplier capabilities.
• Ensure timely development of new products to support on-schedule launches.
• Participate in company events such as reunions and rallies, contributing to product displays and workshops.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
• Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.
• Implement design feedback and iterate on designs.
• Ensure designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of product design/development experience in a relevant industry (home accessories, fashion, or fragrance).
• Proficiency in 3D rendering and manufacturing processes for home accessories.
• Understanding of the end-to-end development process for fashion accessories, home gifts, and fragrance products, from concept to production.
• Skills in product presentation and display are essential.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for creating high-fidelity mockups.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and usability principles.
• Experience with digital design tools.
• Understanding of web accessibility standards to create inclusive designs.
• Ability to apply design thinking methodologies to solve complex problems.
• Experience in layout design and creating visually appealing interfaces.
