About the position

As a Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in our New Product Introductions Team, transforming innovative concepts into tangible products. Your work will involve collaborating closely with the Marketing and Product Teams to ensure that our new offerings align with market trends and demands. You will also interface with our Creative Director and engineers to guarantee that your designs are manufacturable and meet our high standards of quality. In this position, you will be responsible for creating technical documents for both new and standard products. Staying informed about design trends and developments in the lighting design industry is essential, as you will be expected to continuously study and research various styles. Your design process will include developing new designs through element design, utilizing computer-aided design (CAD), creating 3D printed models, sketches, and hard prototypes. You will incorporate feedback throughout the design process and prepare comprehensive final design packets for presentation to the New Product Development Team. These packets will include detailed product dimensions, finish breakdowns, final design renderings, and 3D models. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with the marketing team, Creative Director, and Design Engineers to ensure the manufacturability of your final designs. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will be vital as you manage multiple ongoing projects and adapt to changing circumstances. Responsibilities

• Create technical documents for both new and standard products.
• Stay informed about design trends and developments in the lighting design industry.
• Develop new designs using CAD, 3D printed models, sketches, and hard prototypes.
• Incorporate feedback received during the design process.
• Prepare comprehensive final design packets for the New Product Development Team, including detailed product dimensions, finish breakdowns, final design renderings, and 3D models.
• Collaborate with the marketing team, Creative Director, and Design Engineers to ensure manufacturability of final designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience.
• Experience in product design is preferred.
• Skilled in SolidWorks and V Ray.
• Familiarity with Composer, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Strong sketching skills and a passion for bringing designs to life.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and tackle challenges effectively.
• Motivated and driven, with a proactive approach to taking on new challenges.
• Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and adapt to changing circumstances.

Nice-to-haves
