About the position

As Product Designer, you'll design innovative, best-in-class user experiences within Hometap's digital products. You are an energetic, empathetic, and highly motivated product designer who loves to create compelling digital experiences for a variety of user types. You have a clear understanding of design principles and best practices as they relate to software product design, and you know how to execute on them. You can effectively communicate your design intentions to your collaborators and stakeholders. You have experience creating user interfaces for both desktop and mobile, and you have a strong portfolio to prove it. The ideal candidate will bring stellar design chops, a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and create innovative and user-friendly design solutions that align with project objectives
  • Produce wireframes, high fidelity mock-ups, and design prototypes as necessary to communicate ideas and interactions
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and refine designs based on user feedback
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented
  • Work within and build upon the Hometap design system, ensuring consistency across all products and platforms
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies to continuously improve design processes

Requirements

  • 3+ years in product design
  • A team-centric and collaborative working style, with the ability to work cross-functionally across various teams
  • A strong portfolio with demonstrated experience designing modern, compelling, highly adopted software applications and design systems
  • The ability to storyboard, build wireframes/prototypes, and translate ideas to others, influencing external and internal stakeholders
  • The ability to independently produce original work that wows stakeholders and our team consistently
  • Proficiency in Figma and Jira
  • Strong user empathy
  • Experienced and knowledgeable about product design and agile build processes
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
  • Must be organized, analytical, and dynamic
  • Experience balancing quantitative and qualitative user feedback
  • The ability to take and give constructive criticism, and the desire to work in an environment where the best ideas win
  • Understanding of how to apply and build on existing design systems, as well as how to define new visual styles and components
