About the position

As a Product Designer at BMO Financial Group, you will play a crucial role in designing and creating digital experiences that prioritize user and business requirements over technology limitations. Your work will involve understanding logical user flows, focusing on interaction models, navigation, and usage to create satisfying and compelling experiences for users of our products. You will apply user-centered design processes, conducting user research and testing, and developing wireframes and task flows based on user needs. Collaboration with development teams is essential to create intuitive, user-friendly software, leveraging your understanding of graphic design, programming, and web technologies. In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and user research, to choose and implement the best design techniques and usability tests. You will gather user and business requirements, transforming them into initial sketches and wireframes, progressing through to visual design and HTML/CSS prototyping. Your ability to communicate designs effectively using wireframes, flows, sketches, and customer journeys will promote cross-disciplinary team development and communication. Your focus will primarily be on the business/group within BMO, although you may have a broader, enterprise-wide focus. You will exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within established rules, working independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed, allowing you to expand your skills and impact within the organization.
