About the position

At Constant Contact, we are looking for a Product Designer who will play a crucial role in designing meaningful user experiences that align with our business objectives and ensure successful customer outcomes. The ideal candidate will apply design principles and methodologies to elevate our product design, contributing to the overall success of our offerings. This position requires a collaborative spirit, as you will work closely with various teams to create user-centered product designs, requirements, workflows, and strategies that resonate with our users and stakeholders. In this role, you will be responsible for creating user experiences and interfaces for product prototypes, adhering to industry standards and best practices. You will collaborate with UX research teams to plan, prioritize, collect feedback, and develop actionable plans based on user insights. Your ability to translate user needs and business requirements into compelling experiences will be essential. You will create user journeys, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes across multiple devices and interfaces, ensuring a seamless user experience. Additionally, you will create both low- and high-fidelity prototypes to effectively communicate design intent and recommend metrics to define, manage, and measure design success. Your contributions will help establish product design best practices and templates, and you will present strategies and recommendations to design partners and stakeholders. Your expertise and persuasive skills will be vital in influencing the product vision and design, while also contributing to a cohesive voice, tone, and style guide for our products. You will also provide constructive feedback to fellow product designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to create user-centered product designs, requirements, workflows and strategies
  • Create user experiences and interfaces for product prototypes in keeping with industry standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with UX research, including planning, prioritization, feedback collection and action plan creation
  • Translate user needs and business requirements into compelling experiences
  • Create user journeys, user flows, wireframes and interactive prototypes across multiple devices and interfaces
  • Create low- and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate design intent
  • Recommend metrics to define, manage and measure design success and prioritize enhancements
  • Contribute to product design best practices and templates
  • Present strategies and recommendations to design partners and stakeholders
  • Use expertise and persuasion to influence the product vision and design
  • Contribute to a voice, tone, and style guide and ensure site copy follows these patterns
  • Offer feedback to other product designers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in User Experience, Interaction Design, Communication Design, Information Architecture, Psychology, Human Computer-Interaction (HCI), Human Factors or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience or equivalent competency designing solutions for software, web applications or mobile native apps using industry standard design and prototyping tools to create low- and high-fidelity designs and define the work, such as Figma
  • Demonstrated experience influencing, negotiating with and gaining buy-in from stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the design decision making process and incorporate data and key findings into designs
  • Demonstrated ability to support the iterative design process from end-to-end, including wire-framing, prototyping, user testing and high-fidelity visuals
  • Ability to accept feedback gracefully, while also knowing when to push back respectfully
  • Takes ownership of own work, being accountable to deadlines, both those self-imposed and provided by the business
  • Works independently, under the guidance of a more senior designer
  • Strong presentation skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in User Experience, Interaction Design, Communication Design, Information Architecture, Psychology, Human Computer-Interaction (HCI), Human Factors or a related field
  • Foundational understanding of common design heuristics and principles
  • SaaS knowledge and experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
