About the position

HMTX Industries is seeking a talented Product Designer to join our innovative team at our corporate headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut. As a Product Designer, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our design studio, contributing to the development of high-quality flooring products that meet the highest standards of aesthetics and performance. You will work closely with the Senior Product Designer and Senior Design & Prototype Technician, leveraging their expertise to bring your design visions to life. In this position, you will be responsible for crafting compelling design and color presentations that resonate with both internal stakeholders and customers. Your ability to deliver design proposals and prototypes with precision and punctuality will be crucial as you engage with various HMTX business units and design directors. You will also play a key role in driving the completion of factory-ready artwork and color concepts for our design library, showcasing your commitment to excellence in every project. Your creativity will shine as you produce high-quality print artwork for both digital and analog printing, contributing to cutting-edge design experiences. You will actively participate in crafting design layouts, print separations, and color development, while also supporting the innovation of product design and development for hard surface flooring. This role requires a collaborative spirit, as you will be involved in customer meetings, creative workshops, and events on our vibrant Norwalk campus. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Textile Design, Graphic Design, or a related field, along with at least 3 years of experience in the Interior Design industry. Familiarity with creative and project management tools such as Miro and Monday.com, as well as proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, is essential. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Product Designer and Senior Design & Prototype Technician to bring design visions to life.
  • Contribute to the growth and evolution of the Design Studio in Norwalk.
  • Craft compelling design and color presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver design proposals and prototypes with precision and punctuality.
  • Drive the completion of factory-ready artwork and color concepts for the design library.
  • Produce high-quality print artwork for digital and analog printing.
  • Participate in crafting design layouts, print separations, and color development.
  • Support the innovation of product design and development for hard surface flooring.
  • Assist in various stages of the design development process, engaging with business units and customers.
  • Contribute to customer meetings, creative workshops, and events on the Norwalk campus.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in the Interior Design industry.
  • Ability to navigate creative and project management tools like Miro and Monday.com.
  • Applied expertise in color creation using Adobe Photoshop and/or AVA software.
  • Demonstrated creative approach to managing multiple development projects.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration.
  • Refined aesthetic perception and adept sense of color and design skills.
  • Proficiency in Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Strong proficiency in color separations and repeats.

  • Previous experience in the Decorative printing industry.
