About the position

As a dedicated Product Development Analyst at USAA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the end-to-end development of new Property and Casualty (P&C) product opportunities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide analytical support and conduct research on various products and opportunities, assisting with the rollout of new offerings. You will be accountable for analyzing performance across the product development life cycle, ensuring that the Product Development team and other Centers of Excellence (COEs) have the necessary data to make informed strategic and tactical recommendations. This role requires you to define business questions and provide insights that will enhance business performance. In this position, you will support the development of digital-first products that cater to the needs and risks of USAA members. You will provide analytical support to develop strategies, launch new innovative product offerings, and refine existing products, including evaluating whether to buy, build, or ally with other entities. Your creativity will be essential in generating product and coverage solutions that meet member needs, ensuring a dynamic product development pipeline. You will compile both internal and external data, along with member information, to support the formulation of product strategies and enhance competitive intelligence. Additionally, you will monitor and maintain existing products in the market, analyzing their performance metrics to adapt offerings as necessary before full launch. Coordination with relevant control partners, including Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management, will be vital to ensure that all product offerings comply with applicable laws and regulations. You will also be responsible for identifying, measuring, supervising, and controlling risks associated with business activities in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of digital-first products for USAA members.
  • Provide analytical support to develop strategies and refine new product offerings.
  • Generate creative product and coverage solutions to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline.
  • Compile internal and external data to support product strategy and competitive intelligence.
  • Monitor and maintain existing products based on performance metrics and market changes.
  • Analyze new product performance metrics to adapt offerings prior to full launch.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Identify and control risks associated with business activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related field; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 4 years proven experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services, or relevant military experience.
  • Experience conducting research, compiling, and analyzing data.
  • Proven experience supporting product and/or coordinated suite of products.
  • Understanding of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).

Nice-to-haves

  • Property and Casualty product analyst experience.
  • Data analytics experience.
  • Experience in developing new Property & Casualty products outside of auto and property.
  • Experience in state management, pricing, underwriting, consumer insight/research, or claims.
  • US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
