The Electrified Propulsion Integration Center (EPIC) is at the forefront of our efforts, responsible for testing high-voltage battery cells, arrays, and packs to support battery electric vehicles (BEV) and hybrid vehicles. As a Battery Operations Analyst, your primary focus will be to help us achieve excellence, efficiency, and optimization at every point in the testing process. You will be responsible for providing the highest quality data to our internal customers, which will be instrumental in shaping the future of new battery development technology. In this role, you will be involved in the installation of battery cell and pack tests for test cycling as per the ELMS Test Request. You will verify the proper test setup, including instrumentation and ancillary systems, and execute basic debugging of test setups, stands, or product issues. You will initiate automated testing via the Lynx Test Site automation system and document test status and key events in the ELMS Lab Management System. Additionally, you will notify Test Engineering and appropriate Lab Support Personnel of any issues as they arise, and assist in the instrumentation of test devices and design/build test fixtures to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of battery cell/pack tests for test cycling per ELMS Test Request
  • Verification of proper test set-up, including instrumentation and ancillary systems
  • Ability to execute basic debug of test set-up, stand, or product issues
  • Initiating automated testing via the Lynx Test Site automation system
  • Descriptive documentation of test status & key events in the ELMS Lab Management System
  • Notification of Test Engineering and appropriate Lab Support Personnel of issues as they arise
  • Removal of test parts and executing 'de-prep' procedures for proper part identification and safe storage
  • Identify to test Engineering any quality or efficiency issues during the execution of standard tests, including flagging 'nuisance alarms', non-value added or highly frequent manual checks, and similar
  • Assist in the instrumentation of test devices and design/build up test fixtures to meet customer requirements

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1 year + working with Lithium-ion battery packs, arrays, or cells
  • ESE High Voltage Level II qualified
  • Fluent with a true RMS multimeter
  • AVL Lynx software experience
  • Experience with Opti-Temp Glycol chiller operation and maintenance
