About the position

This role requires effective communication with hub teams and vendors to address concerns related to sample execution and costing throughout the development process. The ideal candidate must approach work strategically, multitasking between day-to-day responsibilities and ad-hoc projects that require quick turnaround times. Proactive management of potential issues is essential, as is the ability to drive resolutions with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the candidate should seek personal and professional development opportunities, identifying areas for improvement and risks to the business while making recommendations to the team and upper management. In terms of primary responsibilities, the role includes managing in-season responsibilities for assigned product categories, driving pre-season development, and ensuring that products are built within target costs while maintaining design integrity. Continuous communication with design and raw material partners is crucial to ensure alignment throughout the development process. The candidate will lead discussions around initial flash costing during the development stage to ensure styles meet cost targets before tech packs are released. They will also validate development against SKU plan needs and seek information from sourcing partners to understand vendor competencies and appropriate product allocation in line with the garment sourcing strategy. Accuracy in costing is vital, and the candidate will challenge discrepancies using product knowledge and history. Weekly cross-functional WIP meetings will be led by the candidate to drive collaboration and ensure tech pack accuracy in partnership with design and technical design. The role also involves product category management, ensuring a clear understanding of vendor capabilities and allocation strategies for each category/style in partnership with hubs and sourcing. The candidate must understand product costs, identify price distortions, and engage cross-functional partners for solutions. They will drive adherence to the cross-functional calendar and alert partners of calendar implications should deliverables be missed.
