About the position

The Product Development and Support Manager at Reef Industries, Inc. is responsible for developing and improving products through research and technical analysis. This role involves creating formulas and processes to solve technical problems, ensuring product specifications are met, and providing support to sales staff. The manager will also oversee project progress and maintain records of research findings and expenditures.

Responsibilities

• Develops formulas, processes and methods for solution of technical problems
• Analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties
• Develops, implements and maintains a timely and effective evaluation system to ensure products meet desired specifications
• Conducts research to develop and improve products
• Prepares technical papers and reports
• Prepares standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products and tests
• Provides assistance to sales staff for interpretation of sales order applications, application design, technical drawings and product compatibility to reduce customer complaints resulting from misapplication of products
• Works closely with vendors and purchasing in the sourcing of products
• Maintains records of project progress and expenditures, research findings and test results

Requirements

• 5+ years of Polymer experience ideally with blown plastic film
• Experience conducting research in a laboratory setting
• Prior supervisory skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or closely related field is required, minor degree in Organic Chemistry a plus
• Background in Polymer Chemistry and Catalysis
• Knowledge of polymer fabrication and manufacturing processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
