About the position

Join Ford Motor Company's innovative team dedicated to the design and release of components for electric, hybrid, and internal combustion (ICE) transmissions/transaxles. We are looking for professionals with product development experience in component design and release for our EV power units and ICE automatic transmissions. Join us to shape the future of automotive technology. The automotive industry is moving quickly with a blend of electric, hybrid, and ICE powertrains to meet customer and market demands. With each vehicle line requiring competitive performance and new technology, there is an expanding need for component engineers to support both new and modified powertrains required to meet each application's need. This work will focus on reducing component costs and improving quality through design actions and/or sourcing to new suppliers. In this position, you will assess current designs for cost and quality opportunities, lead component design, FMA documentation, generate validation plans, and launch new designs or supplier components. The engineer will lead and support various design engineering activities, including identifying key cost opportunities, analyzing investment versus part save business cases, and developing validation plans for incorporation. You will also lead purchasing, finance, and cost estimating in supplier selection to achieve program targets, interface with internal and external manufacturing teams, and release 3-D and 2-D CAD that meets system and component design requirements. Additionally, you will support Ford CAE/CFD analysis prior to tooling kick-off and physical testing, complete FMA and related quality documentation, and manage supplier or Ford manufacturing/tooling delivery.
