Kelly® Engineering is seeking a talented R&D Mechanical Engineer specializing in Industrial Machinery to join an innovative company in Buffalo, NY. The role is primarily focused on product development, where the engineer will conduct preliminary research on new products, ensuring technical confirmation and verification of technical drawings and processes. The engineer will also be responsible for managing technology changes efficiently, staying updated on product development trends, and actively participating in new product research and development. In this role, the R&D Mechanical Engineer will conduct research and design based on new product requirements, ensuring the validation and timely release of existing products. The engineer will participate in the selection of components and research suppliers for new products, providing essential technical support during product production. Addressing technical issues promptly is crucial, as the engineer will assist sales and customer service in handling customer complaints, collecting customer feedback, and enhancing design quality. Collaboration with the quality department is also a key aspect of this position, as the engineer will work to address quality issues and handle non-conformance reviews within the assigned scope.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary research on new products, including technical confirmation and verification of technical drawings and processes.
  • Stay updated on product development trends and actively participate in new product research and development.
  • Conduct research and design based on new product requirements and complete the validation and timely release of existing products.
  • Participate in the selection of components and research suppliers for new products.
  • Provide technical support during product production and address technical issues promptly.
  • Assist sales and customer service in handling customer complaints and collect customer feedback to enhance design quality.
  • Collaborate with the quality department to address quality issues and handle non-conformance reviews.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in the product development of industrial equipment/machinery.
  • Experience with powder material handling or pneumatic conveyor systems is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 15%.
