About the position

As a Product Development Engineer at KLA, you will play a pivotal role in the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, contributing to the development and integration of advanced technologies that are essential for the production of electronic devices. Although there is currently no specific opening, KLA is continuously building its talent community for Product Development Engineers, and we are eager to learn about your background and expertise. This position is integral to KLA's technology, focusing on system testing and integration support for customer facilities across the United States. You will leverage both theoretical and experimental system engineering knowledge to support the development of multidisciplinary products that meet customer needs and marketing requirements. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various disciplines, including algorithm development, mechanical engineering, optics, electronics, and software engineering. Your responsibilities will include the development and testing of system design improvements, specification validation, and the implementation of effective solutions. You will also support the internal adoption and usage of wafer and reticle handlers produced by KLA on various inspection and metrology equipment products. Writing technical reports will be a key part of your job, as you will need to communicate issues, analyses, technical assessments, system status, best-known methods, and engineering recommendations effectively. Additionally, you will interface closely with service, manufacturing, engineering, and marketing teams to define and optimize system performance while resolving any performance issues that arise. Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of engineering prototype systems at the division headquarters will also be part of your responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Lead the Integration Support team in system testing for customer facilities across the United States.
  • Maximize theoretical and experimental system engineering knowledge to support new and existing multidisciplinary products.
  • Work closely with diverse disciplines including algorithm, mechanical, optics, electronics, and software in the development and testing of systems design improvements.
  • Support internal adoption and usage of wafer and reticle handlers on various inspection and metrology equipment products.
  • Write technical reports to communicate issues, analysis, technical assessments, system status, best-known methods, and engineering recommendations.
  • Interface closely with service, manufacturing, engineering, and marketing teams to define and optimize system performance and resolve performance issues.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of engineering prototype systems.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and 3+ years of experience, or Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing, wafer handling systems, and servo control systems.
  • Experience with yield and process control instrument systems for the semiconductor industry.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools such as JMP, Matlab, Python, and Microsoft Excel.
