About the position
The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for engineering work on multiple products, particularly focusing on the development of complex catheters and similar disposable devices. This role involves collaboration with global site engineers, overseeing testing, data collection, analysis, and prototype creation while maintaining customer relationships throughout the development cycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead product development of complex catheters or similar disposable devices.
- Oversee testing, data collection, analysis, and prototype creation.
- Participate in customer relationships throughout the development cycle.
- Perform stress analysis using classical methods and SolidWorks Simulation.
- Lead design reviews, phase reviews, PFMEA, DFMEA, and similar reviews.
- Conduct 3D modeling and CAD design using SolidWorks.
- Produce and review product documentation including drawings, proposals, and technical reports ensuring compliance with ISO 13485.
- Collaborate with global site engineers on assigned projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- At least 10 years of experience in catheter design/process development.
- Experience transitioning/supporting domestic and off-shore manufacturing.
- Ability to obtain a passport/visa and travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Team-leadership experience in product development and manufacturing processes.
- Extensive background in design for manufacture and quality processes.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials.
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of problems.
