About the position

The Product Development Manager (Medicaid) is responsible for developing the strategic plan for health insurance products that align with Molina's business development goals and operational improvements. This role involves managing internal business projects and programs that require collaboration with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts. The manager will oversee the entire product design process, ensuring that products are delivered from conception to completion. This includes planning and managing project schedules and budgets, monitoring product performance, and potentially engaging with external vendors to enhance product offerings. In this position, the manager will work closely with product leadership to innovate and create corporate-wide products and solutions. They will conduct competitive gap analyses to identify weaknesses in current product offerings and escalate findings to leadership for further action. The role also involves participating in the development of health insurance product strategies and roadmaps, which are informed by comprehensive analyses of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), market requirements, and consumer benefits. The Product Development Manager will lead efforts in process improvement and organizational change management, ensuring that business programs are executed effectively. They will serve as a subject matter expert in their functional area, guiding teams to meet critical business needs. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for vetting potential partners, assisting with contracting and onboarding, and providing recommendations for operational improvements. They will also create product collateral, training materials, and marketing content to support product development initiatives, while generating and distributing standard reports on project progress.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in product development.
  • Operational Process Improvement experience.
  • Project and program management experience.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience partnering with various levels of leadership across the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of product development experience.
  • Managed Care (specifically Medicaid) experience.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional highly matrixed organization.
