About the position

The Product Development Manager (Medicaid) at Molina Healthcare is responsible for developing comprehensive plans and strategies for health insurance products that align with the company's business development goals and operational improvements. This role involves managing internal business projects and programs that require collaboration with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts. The manager will oversee the entire product design process, ensuring that products are delivered from conception to completion. This includes planning and managing the organization's health insurance product development objectives and initiatives across various platforms, directing schedules, and managing project budgets. The manager will also monitor product performance and may engage with external vendors to enhance product offerings. In this position, the Product Development Manager will work closely with product leadership to foster collaboration across departments, integrating innovations and solutions into defined corporate-wide products. The role requires conducting competitive gap analyses to identify weaknesses in current product offerings and escalating findings to leadership for strategic decision-making. The manager will participate in developing the health insurance product strategy and roadmap, informed by thorough analyses of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), market requirements, and consumer benefits. Additionally, the manager will assist with growth and business development initiatives, focusing on process improvement and organizational change management. Leading a team, the manager will execute business programs and serve as a subject matter expert in the functional area, ensuring that critical needs are met. Responsibilities also include vetting potential partners, assisting with contracting and onboarding, and providing operational leaders with recommendations for process enhancements. The manager will create product collateral, training, and marketing materials to support product development and generate standard reports on a scheduled basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development or management, preferably in healthcare or insurance.
  • Strong understanding of health insurance products and Medicaid regulations.
  • Proven experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves
