About the position

The Product Development Manager for Raw Protein will oversee the development and commercialization of raw protein products, managing projects from concept to shelf. This role is crucial in a fast-paced environment, focusing on innovative product designs and technical aspects such as quality, shelf life, and packaging. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in raw proteins and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.

Responsibilities

• Lead raw protein product development and commercialization.
• Develop concepts and prototypes for new products with the Culinary team.
• Use creative solutions to develop novel prototypes, considering commercialization and packaging capabilities.
• Identify partners, equipment, and processes for successful commercialization of prototypes.
• Lead plant trials, sensory testing, shelf life verification, and claim validation for new product development.
• Conduct continuous improvement projects.
• Facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams for program development and project status updates.
• Prepare comprehensive process documentation for smooth commercialization and training of plant personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in meat science, food science, biology, chemistry, agricultural science, or a related life science field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in food product or process development, QA, or manufacturing, preferably in raw protein categories.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of the Culinary Arts.
• Technical excellence in a food science-related field.
• Demonstrated track record of successful product design and launches in raw protein categories.
• Competent in leading benchtop development and manufacturing trials.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
