About the position

The Product Development Manager of Complexion at Morphe is responsible for overseeing all phases of new product development, from concept to counter. This role requires a strong understanding of product development fundamentals, particularly in color cosmetics, and the ability to apply strategic thinking throughout the ideation and conceptualization processes. The manager will coordinate timelines, manage internal expectations, and facilitate cross-functional communication to ensure successful product launches.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects from concept to counter for assigned Morphe categories.
  • Create and manage Lab Briefs, communicate and collaborate with vendors, and oversee clinical and market testing.
  • Work closely with cross-functional team members including Sourcing, Planning, Creative, Regulatory, Packaging, Quality, and Brand Development.
  • Lead conversations about projects in cross-functional meetings.
  • Conduct internal and external consumer perception tests, manage test results, and communicate findings to relevant partners.
  • Attend internal meetings to provide direction, updates, and manage timelines.
  • Evaluate incoming samples/products and provide timely feedback to external partners.
  • Travel to labs, facilities, tradeshows, and off-site meetings as required.
  • Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with global testing requirements.
  • Maintain the product library and manage samples and packaging for various initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Brand Development to execute product launches.
  • Assist with Brand-led initiatives and tasks as needed.
  • Forecast and report on fashion, competitive product launches, and beauty trends.

Requirements

  • 5 years of work experience in color cosmetics product development, with a preference for complexion experience.
  • Applicable beauty industry experience and a passion for the industry.
  • Strong ability to develop products from vision to detail.
  • Flexibility and agility in managing changes and condensed timelines with internal teams.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $112,000 to $148,000.
