About the position

The Product Development Manager at MicroAire is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to enhance sales and market presence for the company's chassis product offerings. This role involves managing the entire sales process, cultivating customer relationships, and coordinating with various departments to meet customer demands and capitalize on market opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage aftermarket product line(s) throughout the sales process in a multi-brand and channel environment.
  • Cultivate customer relationships through new product lines and continuous improvement of existing products.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers through face-to-face interaction.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to proactively identify, develop, and sell new opportunities.
  • Design and recommend sales and marketing programs to grow existing sales and set short and long-term strategies for targeted prospects.
  • Create customer presentations and provide sales and technical support.
  • Manage product lifecycle, market research, identifying coverage, sourcing, product data management, pricing, perform competitive analysis, and make stocking recommendations.
  • Coordinate product management with cataloging, operations, logistics, and engineering to support customer demands and capitalize on any First to Market opportunities.
  • Analyze sale metrics as it pertains to marketing efforts and develop clear action plans to improve sales opportunities.
  • Analyze and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepare and submit sales budgets and reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed opportunity, including prospects, for the region.
  • Handle simple sales and supplier negotiations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or marketing, or equivalent training in business or sales management.
  • 7-10 years of experience in automotive chassis product management and sales environment.
  • Proven track record of success in sales over a sustained period in an automotive OES and aftermarket product environment.
  • Knowledge of products, pricing practices, selling skills, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with practices and techniques related to web merchandising or online retail.
  • Sound knowledge of website management and E-commerce usability.
  • Excellent time management, communication skills, decision making, human relations, presentation, and organization skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Strong ability to network within the industry.
  • Strong planning skills to determine and meet sales objectives.
