About the position

The Product Development Manager at GSM Metals, Inc. is responsible for overseeing new product development projects specifically for finished goods jewelry. This role involves managing project timelines, facilitating communication between internal teams and external customers, and ensuring that projects meet key milestones efficiently. The manager acts as both a company representative and a customer advocate, ensuring smooth transitions from product development to full production while driving continuous process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all New Product Development Projects for Jewelry department
  • Maintain & Manage Project Plan Timelines: expectations, documentation, resources, milestones, setbacks and deliveries
  • Coordinate on time execution of sample production schedule
  • Communicate project status to senior leadership, cross functional teams, and customers as needed
  • Act as representative of company when dealing with customers including answering all incoming e-mails related to new product development
  • Lead and coordinate schedules to set up calls with customers and/or suppliers as necessary
  • Responsible for the transition from product development into full production including process creation and tracking methods
  • Drive internal accountability to achieve key milestone dates
  • Responsible for data gathering of new product processes to translate into labor costing for top management
  • Work regularly with production teams to ensure timely completion of samples
  • Order and plan material for all samples with raw material teams
  • Lead cross-functional communication project and sample reviews
  • Gather feedback from customers, internal employees, and external vendors to improve new products and processes
  • Assist in production improvements as manufacturing challenges arise
  • Work cross functionally to ensure consistency in process and operation among similar products
  • Use current production processes to aid as resource for efficient sample production
  • Act as customer advocate to internal teams/external vendors when articulating new product needs

Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years' experience in project management role
  • 2 - 4 years' experience in jewelry manufacturing role
  • Strong attention to detail and note taking practices
  • Necessary Computer skills: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to speak Spanish a plus
