About the position

The Product Development Manager at Mercy is tasked with overseeing the product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and execution of the new product development process. This role is crucial in ensuring that new concepts and products are effectively brought from concept to consumer, with a strong emphasis on delivering a positive consumer experience. As the organization transitions from a Mercy-centric mindset to a more consumer-centric approach, the Product Development Manager will play a pivotal role in this evolution. This position requires strong communication and positioning skills to drive impactful collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ability to navigate ambiguity and support team members through transitions is a foundational expectation of this role. In this position, the Product Development Manager will report to either a Senior Product Development Manager or the Director of Product Development. The role demands a proactive approach to product lifecycle management, leading cross-functional teams, and utilizing a structured product development process. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting market data and research to identify business and product needs, effectively prioritizing product features, and ensuring that the minimum viable product (MVP) requirements are met. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders across various departments. The role also requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and product plans independently.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee product strategy and roadmap prioritization.
  • Execute the new product development process from concept to consumer.
  • Ensure positive consumer experience for new products introduced or commercialized annually.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in product lifecycle management.
  • Interpret market data and research to identify business and product needs.
  • Identify and prioritize product features and MVP requirements.
  • Drive positive change and ROI through effective product management.
  • Plan and organize multiple responsibilities and product plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred with emphasis in Marketing, Business Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business experience in marketing, product development, and/or management.
  • Experience in life-cycle management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to develop product strategy and prioritize requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Note).
