About the position

The Product Development Manager at Target Specialty Products is responsible for managing the Turf Fuel proprietary products portfolio, which includes overseeing new product development and growth initiatives. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure alignment with sales strategies, product innovation, and regulatory compliance, ultimately driving sales and customer satisfaction in the agricultural chemicals industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Turf Fuel proprietary products portfolio, including new product development and stewardship of portfolio growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Sales Directors and Product Strategy Manager to identify portfolio needs and priorities.
  • Manage new innovative product development projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to grow the brands and business.
  • Develop and launch new and updated products.
  • Provide customer support through tradeshows, seminars, programs, and training.
  • Support sales by developing and training 75 Reps and 8 RSM.
  • Co-manage regulatory compliance for Turf Fuel products in the US and Canada.
  • Work with Sales Directors to execute short and long-term sales strategies.
  • Drive sales direction and innovation in alignment with company objectives.
  • Manage manufacturer production for product development and launch.
  • Coordinate pricing structure with Sales Directors and Product Strategy Manager.
  • Own and drive training and education programs for the sales team.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop proprietary marketing programs.
  • Work with Operations and Sales management to execute marketing plans and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop updated field sales forecasts and identify new geographic growth opportunities.
  • Integrate products into customer business programs profitably and sustainably.
  • Strengthen customer trust and confidence in Target Specialty Products as a business partner.
  • Work with Product Strategy Manager on new product approvals.
  • Coordinate regulatory needs with the regulatory department and manufacturing partners.
  • Own research innovation projects to drive product development and profitability.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree in entomology, business, or related field.
  • Board certified Entomologist.
  • 5+ years of industry, product, and vendor experience in the professional pest industry.
  • 5+ years of experience working in multi-functional teams (e.g., sales, procurement, and marketing).
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and reporting on KPIs.
  • Familiarity with common regulatory licensing concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Results-oriented team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in Windows-based applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
