About the position

The Product Development Manager at Philadelphia Insurance Companies is responsible for overseeing the coordination and completion of new and existing insurance product development projects across various lines, including Property, General Liability, Auto, and Professional Liability. This role involves managing a team, conducting market research, and ensuring that products are competitive and compliant with regulatory standards. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to execute product enhancements and new programs, while also developing the talent of product development specialists.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete new and existing insurance product development projects.
• Oversee staff and manage the product development team.
• Conduct market research to ensure product competitiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Actuarial, IT, Stat, Underwriting, and Claims.
• Manage the end-to-end product development process, including execution and implementation of product enhancements.
• Prioritize Product Development projects and assign tasks to staff.
• Coordinate with the Compliance Department on regulatory matters affecting product forms and rules.
• Develop the talent and expertise of product development specialists.
• Ensure products meet regulatory requirements and adhere to internal standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent of 10 years of Product Development experience in the P&C industry.
• Five years of Commercial and Professional Underwriting Experience or strong understanding of P&C insurance products.
• Management experience is required.
• Knowledge of ISO forms, rates, and rules, including bureau filings and adoption activities.
• Ability to interpret compliance rules and regulations.
