About the position

The Product Development Manager at Lennar is responsible for managing the architecture program for the division, ensuring quality and compliance in construction. This role involves sourcing and supervising external consultants, coordinating internal resources, and overseeing the development of architectural and structural plans. The manager will also engage in value engineering, maintain a plan library, and support marketing and land acquisition efforts, all while fostering a culture of opportunity and growth within the company.

Responsibilities

• Source and supervise outside consultants developing new plans to ensure architectural and structural drawings are completed on schedule and in compliance with standards.
• Manage and direct the process for revisions to plans, including change notifications.
• Identify upcoming product needs as part of the architecture program and respond accordingly.
• Prepare scopes of work for outside architectural and drafting consultants.
• Conduct code research and track ongoing code updates to ensure compliance.
• Initiate and direct product design charrettes for developing new products.
• Communicate with internal and consultant team members about the status of architectural and structural plan development.
• Create and maintain a master architecture schedule based on plan development status.
• Refine architectural and structural plan details to enhance constructability and minimize warranty issues.
• Manage value engineering meetings and initiate plan revisions to capture identified savings.
• Facilitate prototype plan walks and document changes for plan revisions.
• Maintain a Division plan library, including various layouts and diagrams.
• Evaluate constructability of structures and recommend structural adjustments based on compliance, cost, and efficiency.
• Coordinate with the marketing department to ensure accuracy in marketing materials based on architectural plans.
• Support land acquisition and entitlements processes by supplying architecture information.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Architecture or design preferred.
• Three to five years' experience in residential architecture.
• Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD strongly preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
• Valid Driver's License and good driving record required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
