Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from initial concept through to production ramp-up, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with design teams to select appropriate materials and ensure product designs meet quality and aesthetic standards.
  • Partner with product management, marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to drive product development and launch activities.
  • Serve as the primary US contact with China-based manufacturers, ensuring clear communication of requirements and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Recommend and establish comprehensive product testing methodologies, ensuring products meet regulatory standards and quality expectations.
  • Develop and coordinate project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments. Escalate project challenges and propose solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and quality checks throughout the product development process, ensuring no aspect is overlooked.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, with a focus on consumer technology accessories or similar products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME preferred), Product Design, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification in project management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong grasp of project management tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and manage cross-functional projects.
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers, particularly in China, and a thorough understanding of international trade and logistics.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (Solidworks), prototyping tools, and material science, particularly in the context of mobile device accessories.
  • Expertise in product testing, quality assurance standards, and regulatory compliance for consumer products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Understanding of global market trends and the ability to adapt products to meet diverse customer needs.
  • Knowledge of sustainable materials and practices in product design and development.
