About the position

The Product Development Manager at AIG is responsible for overseeing the product development process, including the submission and approval of new or revised insurance products within the Programs Division. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective implementation of products, while also maintaining knowledge of market trends and competitor offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage tasks and processes associated with product development, filing submission/approval, and implementation of new or revised products.
  • Assist Underwriting and Program Development in analyzing, developing, and documenting products, focusing on rate/rule manuals and complex forms drafting.
  • Coordinate product reviews with stakeholders and drive the legal review and approval process for forms/endorsements.
  • Assist in developing and implementing product and filings strategy.
  • Serve as a liaison between AIG Programs staff and the AIG State Filings Department for state filings submission process.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all required filing-related documentation.
  • Coordinate responses to State Insurance Department objections on filings with input from various teams.
  • Provide product support for market conduct inquiries and coordinate state filing product approvals.
  • Conduct research on competitor products and state filings, monitoring market changes.
  • Analyze product offerings and provide guidance on program development and expansion opportunities.
  • Maintain a library of finalized products for reference and develop SOPs for product filing and implementation processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the insurance industry.
  • Experience in Commercial Lines property/casualty insurance products.
  • Familiarity with ISO Commercial Lines products, package policy structure, and Programs business.
  • Bachelor's degree and insurance designations (CPCU, AU, ARM, etc.) preferred, or applicable insurance experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong research skills, including use of AM Best State Filings, RateFilings.com, SERFF.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
