About the position

The Product Development Manager at Mercy plays a crucial role in shaping the product strategy and overseeing the entire new product development process. This position is responsible for prioritizing the product roadmap and ensuring that new concepts and products are effectively brought to market, with a strong focus on enhancing the consumer experience. As the organization transitions from a Mercy-centric approach to a more consumer-centric model, the Product Development Manager will need to exhibit strong communication and positioning skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ability to navigate ambiguity and support team members through transitions is essential for success in this role. In this position, the Product Development Manager will be tasked with interpreting market data and research to identify business and product needs, developing product strategies, and prioritizing product features and requirements. The role requires a proactive approach to driving positive change and achieving return on investment (ROI) through effective product management. The manager will also be responsible for planning and organizing multiple product plans and responsibilities, ensuring that all aspects of product development align with the overall business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing and product development, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. They will be expected to lead cross-functional teams, manage life-cycle processes, and utilize their analytical and problem-solving skills to influence stakeholders and drive product success. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also required, as these tools will be essential for reporting and communication purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute product strategy and roadmap prioritization.
  • Oversee the new product development process from concept to consumer.
  • Ensure positive consumer experience for new products introduced or commercialized annually.
  • Interpret market data and research to identify business and product needs.
  • Identify and prioritize product features, MVP requirements, and optimizations.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Drive positive change and ROI through product management initiatives.
  • Plan and organize multiple responsibilities and product plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred with emphasis in Marketing, Business Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business experience in marketing, product development, and/or management.
  • Experience in life-cycle management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to develop product strategy and prioritize requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Note).
