The Product Development Manager at Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies plays a crucial role in the development and enhancement of insurance products. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the product development leader to document and version strategies.
  • Assist in the development, drafting, and enhancement of forms and forms language.
  • Support the design, development, and implementation of system and process solutions aligned with forms implementation strategy.
  • Work with training and marketing teams to develop communication, training, and marketing materials for new or enhanced products.
  • Conduct competitor intelligence research to inform product development.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and legislative rules.
  • Document, maintain, and version control forms attachment logic.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Business Analysis Unit for ad-hoc analysis to support strategies and initiatives.
  • Create, maintain, and version control templates, documentation, and schedules for underwriting audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with concentration in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics or Actuarial Sciences (J.D. preferred but not required).
  • 5+ years of Commercial Product or Underwriting experience.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, state regulations, and compliance processes.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in working in a matrixed environment with stakeholders at various levels.
