About the position

The Product Development Manager at Henkel is responsible for driving regional product development teams focused on adhesives and coatings for packaging materials, with an emphasis on sustainability. This role involves identifying new trends in technology and regional markets, developing processes for consistent product development, and managing intellectual property strategies. The manager will prioritize projects, mentor teams, and ensure timely product launches while providing technical support to manufacturing and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Drives regional product development teams supporting adhesives and coatings for packaging materials with a focus on sustainability.
• Identifies new trends in technology and regional markets and invests resources appropriately to maintain leadership in the industry.
• Develops and implements processes to ensure consistent product development, managing opportunity and risk appropriately.
• Supports and executes IP Strategy and captures and defends Henkel's intellectual property through patents.
• Acts as responsible for all technical matters in the region for the SBU and defines and manages CAPEX needs within the region.
• Prioritizes global/regional projects, assigns and leverages resources regionally.
• Technically drives and mentors must-win product development projects.
• Ensures timely development, scale up, and launch of products.
• Executes and implements technology and project portfolio.
• Provides technical support to Manufacturing/Quality and enables faster scale ups.

Requirements

• Ph.D. and 5 years experience in a relevant technology or market.
• People management and leadership experience preferred.
• Innovation management and track record of commercial success.
• Application and chemical knowledge of coatings experience is preferred.
• Technology scouting experience preferred.
