About the position

The Product Development Manager at HCSC is responsible for the development, management, and execution of enhancements and new products within the ancillary portfolio of group benefits. This role involves collaborating with various departments, building relationships, and ensuring that product strategies align with market needs and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and management of group benefits product enhancements.
  • Execute product development associated with the ancillary portfolio of products.
  • Interact effectively with staff and management across multiple departments, including executive leadership.
  • Build key relationships and understand organizational interdependencies.
  • Conduct general business and financial analysis.
  • Utilize knowledge of sales and marketing techniques, marketplace, and competition.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and information synthesis skills.
  • Communicate persuasively and effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently with flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Deliver presentations independently to external clients.
  • Guide and provide on-the-job training to staff.
  • Manage external vendor relationships to support product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in group benefits underwriting, product compliance, product development, or marketing analysis within the insurance industry, or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience interacting with staff and management across multiple departments and levels.
  • Strong analytical and information synthesis skills.
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills.
  • Project management skills with strong organization and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working in a team environment and managing complex corporate projects.
  • Proficiency in PC skills including Excel, Access, and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Mathematics, or Insurance.
