About the position
O.C. Tanner is seeking a Product Development Project Coordinator to join our Product Development Team. This role is pivotal in managing prototype request projects that originate from the Marketing and Purchasing teams. The primary focus of this position is to facilitate due dates, coordinate resources across production, and manage the Jira VSS system to ensure timely delivery of projects. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from ideation and strategizing to proposal and final launch. In this role, you will engage in project management by receiving and managing the delivery of key initiatives by specific deadlines. You will ideate, strategize, and propose award solutions to our sales team, prospects, and clients. Additionally, you will assist in the implementation of process development and documentation, ensuring that all necessary materials and capabilities are in place to support new award types. Your leadership will extend across cross-functional teams, where you will manage prototypes and coordinate the necessary resources for successful project execution. You will also be responsible for system support and analysis for potential programming needs, coordinating the launch of initiatives, samples, collateral, and training. Ownership of project timelines is crucial, as is creating a positive and motivating development environment for all team members. This position requires a self-starter who is creative, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a keen attention to detail and understanding the strategic impact of decisions.
Responsibilities
- Receive and manage the delivery of key initiatives by specific dates.
- Ideate, strategize, and propose award solutions to sales team, prospects, and clients.
- Project manage product designs from ideation and proposal to launch.
- Assist with implementation of process development and documentation.
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototype management and material set-up.
- Ensure capabilities are in place and ready to support new award types.
- Provide system support and analysis for potential programming needs.
- Coordinate the launch of initiatives, samples, collateral, and training.
- Own project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
- Create a positive and motivating development environment.
Requirements
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to plan project timelines and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of configurator, material master, SAP, and JIRA.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to understand the strategic impact of decisions.
- Knowledge and experience of O.C. Tanner systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- BA/BS degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
- Flexibility to work on multiple and varied projects simultaneously.
- PC literate with experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
