About the position

The Product Development Project Manager (Color Cosmetics) is a full-time role based in Los Angeles, responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies for product launches in the beauty industry. This position requires a deep understanding of the new product development (NPD) process from concept through commercialization, with a focus on driving brand awareness, engaging audiences, and boosting sales.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities.
  • Oversee all new product development (NPD) stages, from conceptualization through launch.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Provide support and training to the sales and marketing team on brand positioning and product details.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive product development strategies aligned with market trends.
  • Lead the planning and development of new product concepts from ideation to launch.
  • Develop pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profit margins.
  • Analyze product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize portfolio.
  • Create and maintain detailed project timelines for launches.
  • Craft compelling product descriptions, marketing copy, and promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to create engaging content that resonates with target audiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in brand management within the beauty and cosmetics industry, with 3+ years of product development experience.
  • Strong understanding of the entire NPD process and ability to lead each stage to completion.
  • Experience working with ODM vendors is strongly preferred.
  • Must be self-starter and a collaborative team player.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to present professionally to cross-functional teams and related vendors.
  • Strong project management and time management skills with an ability to handle multiple projects.
  • High interest in skincare, and knowledge around current trends.
  • Ability to coach and mentor Assistant Brand Managers.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, or a related field.
