About the position

The Technical Project Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and managing multiple projects within a lean software delivery environment. This position requires an expert understanding of Lean Project and Program Management principles, particularly as they apply to software delivery. The successful candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of lean enterprise methodologies and Kanban practices, ensuring that all projects align with organizational strategy and operational management. The role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from project and resource planning to execution, monitoring, and reporting. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for conducting value stream analysis, managing risks and issues, and performing critical path analysis to ensure project success. In addition to technical expertise, the Technical Project Manager will provide strong leadership across multiple squads and clans, mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative environment. This role requires a self-starter who can effectively manage their own time and workload while leading the development of the project roadmap. The Technical Project Manager will prioritize the delivery pipeline, lead large-scale enterprise projects, and drive initiatives aimed at enhancing customer value. Continuous improvement in lean delivery practices will be a key focus, as will aligning and executing the product vision and strategy. The Technical Project Manager will also contribute to strategic decision-making and set an example for all project resources within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple projects within a lean software delivery environment.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Conduct value stream analysis and manage risks and issues throughout the project.
  • Perform critical path analysis and dependency mapping to ensure project success.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentoring to multiple squads and clans.
  • Develop and maintain the project roadmap, prioritizing the delivery pipeline effectively.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance customer value and improve project outcomes.
  • Align and execute product vision and strategy, contributing to strategic decisions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in lean delivery practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Technology Management, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Graduate degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Lean Project/Program Management principles and practices in software delivery.
  • Expert knowledge of lean enterprise methodologies and Kanban.
  • Advanced knowledge of product and engineering environments.
  • Expert working knowledge of Lean and Agile practices.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle, project and resource planning, and value stream analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage scope and change effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Broad knowledge of competitors and their offerings in the software delivery space.
  • Experience in leading collaborative planning and execution of production pipelines.
