About the position

The Product Development Project Manager at McKenna Labs is responsible for overseeing client projects from the initial quote stage through to delivery, tech transfer, and company development projects. This role requires managing detailed project plans, engaging with various department managers and clients, and ensuring that projects stay on track and within budget. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to communicate project status and manage expectations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Drive client projects from initial quote stage to delivery and tech transfer.
  • Manage detailed project plans with dependencies, owners, deadlines, and duration.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure project briefs are complete and clear.
  • Work with the costing team to ensure timely processing of quotes.
  • Coordinate with the R&D team to keep submissions on track and within budget.
  • Ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components with purchasing and operations teams.
  • Participate or lead kickoff, first fill, and post-production review meetings.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders and executive management regarding project status and risks.
  • Identify potential roadblocks and collaborate on solutions with the Director of Product Development.
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize workload according to business goals.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the PD team and organizational development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service, business development, or project management, preferably in manufacturing or packaging of cosmetics, personal care, food, or pharmaceutical products.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable in product development and contract manufacturing processes.
  • High level of confidence, integrity, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to influence people and processes without direct authority.
  • Effective interaction with various levels of employees inside and outside the organization.
  • Strong computer skills, including intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves
