About the position

As a Product Development Project Manager at Hunter Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in managing the development of innovative products through collaboration with cross-functional teams. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful execution of multiple, simultaneous new product development projects. This includes overseeing discussions to clearly define project scopes, which encompass cost targets, product features, deadlines, and more. You will lead teams from various departments such as engineering, supply chain, operations, and product management, methodically addressing urgent issues and proactively defining task sequences and key milestones to ensure timely decision-making and task completion. In this role, you will facilitate and guarantee clear communication between project team members, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure productive outcomes. You will orchestrate all activities required for prototype builds, including the collection, categorization, and prioritization of feedback to drive efficient design iterations. Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting and recording key information from meetings, emails, and other media, ensuring that proper documentation practices are followed by project team members. Your ability to effectively mediate between conflicting departments, stakeholders, or project team members will be crucial in determining an agreeable direction for projects. You will also prepare and deliver executive-level communications summarizing project progress and proactively analyze and provide suggestions for improvements related to project management processes, tools, and resources. This position requires a collaborative mindset and a willingness to continuously seek best-in-class solutions, making it essential for you to inspire innovation and motivate others within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful execution of multiple, simultaneous new product development projects

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Manager with experience leading complex projects within a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree (in Engineering related field is preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proven leadership within a matrix organization
  • Ability to inspire innovation and motivate others
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication and assembly processes
  • 5 + years of experience in Project Management
  • Experience with Smartsheet work management software
