About the position

The Product Development Project Manager will lead the planning, organizing, and directing of cross-team projects within a family-owned seasoning and food smoking equipment company. This role is crucial for ensuring that new products are developed and existing products are enhanced, all while adhering to timelines, budgets, and project scopes. The position requires collaboration with various teams including analysts, food scientists, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, sales, and marketing to bring innovative culinary products to market.

Responsibilities

• Cross-company project management for product development of PS and Pro Smoker branded retail products, along with private label products.
• Tracking department budget to ensure financial efficiency and accountability.
• Managing receipts and ensuring accurate financial documentation.
• Coordinating with R&D, marketing, creative, sales, and production teams to align project goals and timelines from ideation through production.
• Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
• Monitoring project progress and making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful project completion.
• Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
• Facilitating regular project meetings to update stakeholders on progress, address issues, and ensure alignment.
• Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards throughout the product development process and product lifecycle.
• Preparing and presenting project reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Measuring project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment to drive continuous improvement and product excellence.
• Developing strong relationships and working knowledge of teams across the company to holistically connect and drive work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven 5-10 years experience in project management, preferably in product development.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple large-scale projects successfully and simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, along with a suite of Microsoft tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the food industry, particularly in seasoning or related products.
• PMP and Six Sigma or similar project management certification.
• Familiarity with retail product development processes.
