About the position

The Product Development Project Manager will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the development of new products from conception to launch. This position requires a driven and results-oriented individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring that all products meet customer expectations and contribute to the company's growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing project plans that include timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments. They will lead cross-functional teams that consist of engineering, research and development, manufacturing, and other departments as necessary to execute projects effectively. In this role, the Project Manager will collaborate closely with customers to understand their needs and ensure that products are developed accordingly. They will be tasked with effectively communicating project status, issues, and risks to company leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Manager will also drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing product development processes, thereby enhancing project success rates. Additionally, the role involves managing the development of prototypes and overseeing testing to ensure product quality and reliability. The Project Manager will oversee manufacturing and fabrication processes to ensure that the final products are produced efficiently and effectively. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of product development and ensuring that the company remains competitive in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans for new product development initiatives, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risks.
  • Lead cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, research and development, manufacturing, and other departments as needed to execute projects.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and ensure products are developed to meet those needs.
  • Effectively communicate project status, issues, and risks to company leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product development processes and ensure project success.

  • Oversee the manufacturing and fabrication processes to ensure efficient and effective production of final products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Product Development and Project Management.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet metal, and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience with SmartSheet or other project management software.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
