About the position

The Product Development & Purchaser role at Robert Half involves overseeing product development with wood and metal materials, managing purchasing processes, and utilizing ERP systems. The position requires a blend of creativity and technical skills, along with a strong background in product development to meet market demands and consumer needs.

Responsibilities

• Designing, experimenting, evaluating, and executing alternative solutions based on understanding of technical capabilities, consumer/customer unmet needs, and market trends.
• Connecting market and consumer needs to product design, performance, alternatives, and setting technical specifications/limits on final product design.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders, consumer research, and technology platforms on successful execution of experimental development or commercialization projects.
• Mitigating technical risk by designing and analyzing experiments, coordinating and conducting mill trials, and collecting consumer/market feedback on product designs.
• Developing Intellectual Property through the creation of invention disclosures, patent applications, and trade secrets by partnering with the Legal team.
• Solving complex problems by exercising critical thought and approaching data analysis with a creative and open-minded approach.
• Providing technical advice on claims, data substantiation, and overall product points of view to business leaders, operations, manufacturing, sales, and marketing teams.

Requirements

• Experience in Buying Processes, demonstrating ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliers.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team collaboration and coordination with stakeholders.
• Ability to perform duties ethically and professionally, adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changes in the industry and job role.
• Experience working in an R&D environment with demonstrated results independently leading projects or experiments, product development activities, and scaling up to commercial feasibility.
