About the position

Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Product Director for Marketing Engagements & Education in the Hematology sector, located in Horsham, Pennsylvania. This role is integral to the Strategy & Operations team within the commercial organization at Janssen Biotech. The individual will be responsible for implementing strategies, processes, and providing leadership for the Hematology pillar of the Marketing Engagements & Education Team (MEET). This includes overseeing the speaker bureau, sponsorships, and fee-for-service contracting for the Hematology organization. The position requires close collaboration with various teams, including Brand Marketing, Sales Training, Medical Affairs, and Compliance, to effectively execute key commercial activities. The Product Director will report to the Director of Marketing Engagements & Education and will lead the Hematology pillar, focusing on operational excellence in business functions such as Speaker Bureau, Sponsorships, and Fee-for-Service Contracting. Responsibilities include budgeting, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and acting as the point of contact for internal audits and escalations related to MEET initiatives. The role also involves partnering with external contracting organizations to manage and develop contracted individuals in sponsorship and fee-for-service roles. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Product Director will be accountable for delivering key operational workstreams, executing Hematology Speaker Programs, and coordinating Sponsorships in line with J&J's standard operating procedures. The individual will proactively identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams to standardize processes across the portfolio. Project management skills are essential, as the director will develop planning timelines and action plans, ensuring all deadlines and deliverables are met while providing thorough communication to stakeholders. The role also emphasizes customer experience, requiring the director to implement innovative practices that enhance stakeholder experiences at speaker programs and sponsorship engagements. Compliance with legal, regulatory, and procurement guidelines is critical, and the director will be expected to challenge the status quo to develop new ideas and solutions. This position is not exhaustive and may include other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Hematology pillar of the Marketing Engagements & Education Team (MEET) including operational excellence strategy for Speaker Bureau, Sponsorships, and Fee-for-Service Contracting.
  • Shape the MEET Hematology strategy and provide leadership for the MEET Hematology team.
  • Act as a liaison between the MEET Hematology team and Hematology Marketing and Sales Leadership.
  • Manage budgeting, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement for MEET initiatives.
  • Partner with external contracting organizations to hire and develop contracted individuals for sponsorship and fee-for-service roles.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Excellence, Compliance, Legal, and other teams to enhance the Speaker Bureau process and policies.
  • Deliver key operational workstreams and execute Hematology Speaker Programs and Sponsorships in accordance with J&J standard operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and operational improvement in Speaker Bureau, Fee-for-Service contracting, and Sponsorships.
  • Develop and manage planning timelines and action plans in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Ensure effective communication with internal stakeholders and external partners regarding speaker training, meetings, and events coordination.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant business experience, including pharmaceutical and healthcare knowledge, with at least 5 years in Sales, Sales Training, Professional Education, Operations, Brand Marketing, or related fields.
  • Practical knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing, including FDA regulatory and legal compliance regulations.
  • Proven ability to understand business strategy and translate it into education solutions that support company goals.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to establish good working relationships across functions at all levels.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams across a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop by influence.
  • Highly detailed and organized, capable of managing multiple large-scale events and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and executive communication skills, along with demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including overnight and weekend travel domestically.
