About the position

The Product Engineer II position within the 3D Analyst Team focuses on developing innovative software solutions that leverage 3D spatial analytics. The role involves working with the ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension to enhance the management and analysis of 3D data, catering to a diverse customer base with various applications. The ideal candidate will contribute to the advancement of technology in this field, utilizing deep learning and other modern techniques to solve complex spatial problems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, test, and document new software tools and techniques
  • Grow capabilities for lidar data management, analysis, classification, and feature extraction tools
  • Deploy tools that utilize deep learning technology to solve complex problems
  • Grow expertise in using Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) for surface modeling as well as its use as a spatial data structure
  • Help make 3D textured reality meshes useful for more than just visualization
  • Sharpen and exercise your skills in presenting, demonstrating, and communicating technical topics to colleagues and customers
  • Support spatial analysis on 3D features, including spatial proximity queries and solid operators

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in GIS or related field
  • Proven track record solving complex problems involving lidar, TIN, and/or 3D geometry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor's in geography, earth science, planning, environmental studies, engineering, computer science, or statistics

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Scripting/programming with Python, C#, C++
  • Surface analysis, DEM/DTM production, 3D data visualization
  • Master's degree in geography or earth science
