About the position

As a Product Engineer II on the 3D Analyst Team, you will leverage your enthusiasm and expertise in 3D spatial analytics to contribute to the development of cutting-edge software solutions. The ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension empowers users to create, import, and convert 3D data across various formats, enabling them to analyze surfaces and 3D features for enhanced environmental understanding. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can bring state-of-the-art technology to a diverse customer base with a wide array of 3D applications. Your role will involve designing, prototyping, testing, and documenting new software tools and techniques that will enhance our product offerings. In this position, you will be responsible for expanding our capabilities in lidar data management, analysis, classification, and feature extraction tools. You will deploy innovative tools that utilize deep learning technology to address complex challenges in the field. Additionally, you will grow your expertise in using Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) for surface modeling and its application as a spatial data structure. Your contributions will help make 3D textured reality meshes more functional beyond mere visualization, allowing for practical applications in various projects. You will also have the opportunity to sharpen your skills in presenting, demonstrating, and communicating technical topics to both colleagues and customers. Supporting spatial analysis on 3D features, including spatial proximity queries and solid operators, will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, test, and document new software tools and techniques
  • Grow capabilities for lidar data management, analysis, classification, and feature extraction tools
  • Deploy tools that utilize deep learning technology to solve complex problems
  • Grow expertise in using Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) for surface modeling as well as its use as a spatial data structure
  • Help make 3D textured reality meshes useful for more than just visualization
  • Sharpen and exercise your skills in presenting, demonstrating, and communicating technical topics to colleagues and customers
  • Support spatial analysis on 3D features, including spatial proximity queries and solid operators

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in GIS or related field
  • Proven track record solving complex problems involving lidar, TIN, and/or 3D geometry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor's in geography, earth science, planning, environmental studies, engineering, computer science, or statistics

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Scripting/programming with Python, C#, C++
  • Surface analysis, DEM/DTM production, 3D data visualization
  • Master's degree in geography or earth science
