About the position

The Product & Filing Analyst at Great American Insurance Company plays a crucial role in supporting the growth and profitability of the Specialty Equipment Services division. This position involves developing and revising insurance products, maintaining rating tools, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing training on product changes. Responsibilities

  • Contributes to and supports divisional premium volume growth and profitability goals.
  • Participates in developing new and revised insurance products and rate development and revisions, underwriting guidelines, manuals, and procedures.
  • Develops, maintains, and audits rating tools to quote business in accordance with established rules and rate manuals.
  • Assists in administering training and communication materials and providing training as necessary on product/rate changes to appropriate individuals and teams.
  • Assists in coordinating and administering all aspects of assigned filings and ensures compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Compiles all required information and disseminates/communicates necessary information to others.
  • Analyzes and responds to objections and inquiries from state regulatory authorities.
  • Ensures the development of new and revised insurance products comply with state regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Participates in audits (i.e., compliance audits, rate/pricing reviews, and agency reviews).
  • Monitors pertinent insurance publications to determine impact on our line(s) of business.
  • Identifies emerging coverage issues, state regulatory concerns, and business unit needs.
  • Develops action plans, implementing, and communicating changes when appropriate.
  • Resolves and/or assists with researching, documenting, communicating moderately complex compliance related issues.
  • Provides technical advice to lower-level positions and other functional areas.
  • May have the responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Generally, 3 to 6 years of related underwriting, compliance, or product experience.
