About the position

The Product Finance Analyst role at Snowflake involves supporting the company's growth by managing cloud spend, analyzing unit economics, and providing strategic insights to improve financial performance. The position requires collaboration with various teams, including Engineering and Product Management, to optimize costs and enhance reporting processes as the company scales.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Cloud Spend model and track actuals vs forecast.
• Write SQL queries to analyze unit economics and provide insights.
• Identify and resolve issues in infrastructure spend to minimize business impact.
• Recommend strategies to reduce COGS/OpEx and improve margins.
• Build internal tooling in Snowflake or BI tools for managing CSP spend.
• Collaborate with the Accounting team on the monthly close process regarding COGS/R&D classification.
• Act as a trusted advisor to Engineering and Product Management on cloud spend considerations.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Management Consulting.
• Experience in a SaaS business, particularly with Engineering and Analytics teams.
• Understanding of the close process and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience mentoring and reviewing junior team members' work.
• Proficiency in SQL and BI tools, with strong Excel skills.
• Good understanding of GAAP and experience working with Accounting teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience analyzing cost and usage data from AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• FinOps certification.
• Python skills.
• Solid problem-solving ability and experience with ambiguous datasets.
