As a Product Lead for Hardware Solutions at Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT), you will play a pivotal role in a dynamic and empowered Product Team that takes full ownership of their products. This includes developing sellable, installable, and supportable hardware solutions that enhance market penetration and drive system sales revenue. Your primary responsibility will be to translate the overarching CTCT strategy into actionable product team strategies, ensuring that the needs and requests of customers are distilled into clear product requirements. You will prioritize tasks within the Product Team and collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including multi-discipline engineering teams, to develop, maintain, and support high-quality hardware products throughout their entire lifecycle. The scope of your product responsibilities will encompass a variety of hardware components, including sensors, electronic modules, and specialty hardware utilized in the heavy and compact construction, paving, and mining industries. This role requires a strong focus on product development in collaboration with external partners, ensuring that the products not only meet but exceed customer expectations. You will be tasked with driving the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, from inception to retirement, while balancing cost, time, and quality to achieve product objectives. Your ability to identify and champion hardware opportunities within CTCT and its parent organizations will be crucial in improving the financial standing of both CTCT and its partners. In addition to these responsibilities, you will be expected to conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product development, develop the Product Team Strategy, Multi-Generation Product Plan (MGPP), and Roadmap based on a deep understanding of customer, partner, and market needs. You will also be responsible for delivering key documents such as the Market Requirements Document (MRD) and the Product Requirements Document (PRD). As a leader within the product team, you will navigate issues, changes, decisions, and communications that impact your products and team dynamics, ensuring alignment and clarity across all stakeholders.
