About the position

As a Hardware Solutions Product Lead at Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT), you will play a pivotal role in a dynamic and empowered Product Team that takes full ownership of their hardware solutions. This position is crucial for driving the development of sellable, installable, and supportable hardware products that enhance market penetration and boost system sales revenue. Your primary responsibility will be to translate the overarching CTCT strategy into actionable product team strategies, ensuring that product needs are effectively distilled from customer requests and market demands. You will collaborate closely with both internal and external customers, stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to develop, maintain, and support high-quality hardware products throughout their entire lifecycle. The product responsibilities for this role encompass a range of hardware components, including sensors, electronic modules, and specialty hardware utilized in the heavy and compact construction, paving, and mining industries. You will be tasked with setting priorities within the product team, driving cost, time, and quality trade-offs to meet product objectives, and ensuring that the products developed align with customer needs and expectations. In addition, you will be responsible for developing the Product Team Strategy, Multi-Generation Product Plan (MGPP), and Roadmap based on a comprehensive understanding of customer, partner, and market needs. Conducting market research and competitive analysis will be essential to inform product development, and you will need to build consensus around the product vision among internal and external stakeholders. Delivering key documents such as the Market Requirements Document (MRD) and the Product Requirements Document (PRD) will also be part of your responsibilities. As a leader within the product team, you will guide discussions regarding issues, changes, decisions, and communications that impact your products and team.
