About the position

The Product Lifecycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire journey of products from development to phase-out, ensuring they remain profitable and competitive throughout their lifecycle. This role involves making strategic decisions regarding product updates, discontinuations, and revitalization, while also supporting Marketing and Sales in defining and maintaining Product Roadmaps. The manager will analyze product performance metrics and collaborate with various teams to optimize product profitability at each lifecycle stage.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees an engineering team managing product lifecycle costs, profitability, and viability.
  • Makes critical decisions about product refresh or retirement based on market demand and competitive pressure.
  • Analyzes product performance metrics, customer feedback, and market trends to extend product life or phase it out.
  • Collaborates with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and marketing teams for smooth lifecycle transitions.
  • Optimizes individual products for maximum profitability, managing CPQ tools and inventory.
  • Aligns lifecycle management decisions with broader product line or business strategy.
  • Manages lifecycle-specific metrics such as profitability, delivery, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Implements and maintains Product Lifecycle Management tool chain.
  • Ensures safety equipment is used during work.

Requirements

  • A relevant Hardware/Software Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
  • A relevant business degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Product, Program, and/or Engineering Management, or Product Marketing.
  • Insights into relevant product line technology and industry standards for Automotive Product Development & Testing.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of business implications of technical decisions.
  • Ability to understand target market needs and drive creation of innovative products.
  • Experience in identifying business opportunities and developing their potential.
  • Good understanding of product, market, and marketing strategy development.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with customers, sales, and co-workers.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, networking, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage complex tasks.
  • Strategic thinker adept at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
