About the position

The Solution Line Manager (SLM) for the Hospitality vertical at Belden, Inc. is a pivotal role that focuses on translating customer challenges into scalable solution offerings that drive revenue growth and enhance profit margins. This position requires a deep understanding of Belden's technology solutions and the ability to create compelling business cases that support new solution opportunities. The SLM will collaborate closely with various teams, including Solution Architecture and Development, to ensure that these solutions are ready for commercial launch. This remote role necessitates travel up to 30%, both domestically and internationally, and the candidate should ideally be located near a major US airport. In this role, the SLM will engage with customers, vertical sales leaders, and solution consultants to develop marketable solutions that integrate Belden's products, software, and services with third-party offerings. A key responsibility will be to create solution roadmaps that outline long-term development plans and identify necessary resources. The SLM will also be tasked with developing common reference architectures that promote repeatability and highlight gaps in Belden's product portfolio, which will inform future solution development. Additionally, the SLM will formulate solution launch plans that encompass all commercial and marketing activities essential for success. This role will support sales teams, field applications engineering, and solutions consultants in crafting value propositions, strategic pricing, and overall product support. Ultimately, the SLM will be responsible for establishing a long-term strategy and vision for hospitality solutions at Belden, ensuring that the company remains competitive and responsive to market needs.

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer problems into salable solutions incorporating Belden products, software, and services with third-party offerings.
  • Create solution roadmaps that identify long-term plans for solution development and resources needed.
  • Develop common reference architectures for solutions to enable repeatability and identify gaps in the product portfolio.
  • Create solution launch plans including all relevant commercial and marketing activities required for success.
  • Support sales, field applications engineering, and solutions consultant teams in creating value propositions and strategic pricing.
  • Establish a long-term strategy and vision for hospitality solutions at Belden.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or Engineering.
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in business development, product management, or solution management in telecommunications, IT, or datacom related business.
  • Strong technical understanding of IT networking technologies and software solutions such as Ethernet IP, SD-WAN, Wifi, 5GNR, PON, WDM, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with CRM system tools (e.g. SFDC, DeskPro).
  • Proven track record within a solutions role in the hospitality environment (hotels, resorts, casinos, theme parks, cruise ships).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and recommend solutions to manage customer challenges.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into comprehensible conversation with a non-technical audience.
