About the position

In this role, you will be responsible for understanding current quality problems and their impact on various user groups. You will define success metrics and prioritize solutions based on user needs, taking into account both internal and external factors. Collaboration is key, as you will work with cross-functional stakeholders including Policy, Legal, Operations, Engineering, Trust and Safety, human moderators, and Data Science teams across different time zones and organizational structures. Your primary goal will be to drive solutions that improve client feed quality, enhance creator and user satisfaction, and mitigate brand risk. You will serve as a strong advocate for diverse user groups, including stakeholders who may not directly use the client, such as parents of minors. Keeping abreast of state-of-the-art machine learning improvements will be essential, as you will need to think creatively about how these advancements can benefit our users. We are committed to providing a high-quality experience across our product, and we expect you to take the initiative to drive quality improvements across various teams, even if you are not directly responsible for their features. Additionally, you will monitor current market trends, public perception, and external regulatory environments across different markets to stay ahead of the curve. Responsibilities

  • Understand current quality problems and how they impact various user groups.
  • Define success metrics and prioritize solutions based on user needs and internal/external factors.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders across time zones, teams, and organizational charts.
  • Drive solutions to improve client feed quality, enhance creator and user satisfaction, and mitigate brand risk.
  • Advocate for diverse user groups, including stakeholders who may not directly use the client.
  • Monitor state-of-the-art machine learning improvements and consider their application for user benefit.
  • Initiate quality improvements across different teams, even when not directly responsible for their features.
  • Stay informed about current market trends, public perception, and external regulatory environments.
  • Deliver products end-to-end in a fast-moving environment, ensuring timely delivery through established processes.
  • Maintain a mindset of humility and a willingness to learn in a rapidly changing industry.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working on large feed products, particularly in improving feed quality.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management.
  • Prior experience with AI/ML is essential.
  • Ability to deep dive into technical details of ML systems with engineers and metrics with the Data Science team.
  • Exposure to AI model monolith and a combination of deep learning and real-time data processing.
  • Experience with collisionless embeddings to adapt to changes in user preferences and behavior in real-time.
  • Prior experience with ranking and recommendation/personalization for large feeds.
  • Experience in leading/managing a team of product managers.
  • Experience dealing with multi-sided marketplaces.
  • Ability to deliver improvements requiring collaboration across multiple stakeholders in different time zones.
  • Experience in managing trade-offs between quality, diversity, and other top-line metrics.
